Applies to PackZIP (standard), PackZIP Pro, and PackZIP Lite on macOS
This policy covers the PackZIP (standard), PackZIP Pro, and PackZIP Lite apps distributed on the Mac App Store (together, the “PackZIP family” or “the apps”). They are separate products—you might install one or more. By using any of them, you acknowledge this policy.
The app follows Apple’s App Sandbox. It can read and write only where macOS allows—typically after you pick files or folders with standard Open/Save sheets. Apple enforces those limits; the app cannot bypass them.
In PackZIP and PackZIP Pro, some password-protected ZIP operations may invoke Apple’s zip and unzip command-line tools. That work happens on your Mac under macOS control, not on our servers. PackZIP Lite does not include that path.
Editions may bundle different components (for example ZIPFoundation; standard and Pro may also include PLzmaSDK and Unrar-related code). They run inside the app process to implement features; they are not used to ship your file contents to the library authors’ or our servers.
If you enable the Finder Sync extension for an edition you installed, its menu labels match that product (PackZIP, PackZIP Pro, or PackZIP Lite). The extension may write a small payload (for example, chosen paths and an action such as compress or extract) into a shared App Group container so the main app can open and continue the workflow. That data stays on your Mac under Apple’s sandbox rules and is not uploaded to us by the apps.

Do not send passwords, recovery keys, or highly sensitive full files; if you need to share an example, use redacted data or a minimal sample.
The PackZIP family apps are general-purpose utilities. They are not directed at children as a primary audience. If you believe we have handled a minor’s information inappropriately, contact us at the address above.
We may revise this policy when the apps or legal requirements change. We will update the “Last updated” date for material edits. If you install from the App Store, also review each product’s listing and release notes.
